Club kit for Wednesday

For club this week we have a gorgeous chipboard album together with chipboard embellishments, papers, cardstock, ribbon, lace, buttons, 3d stickers and floss (phew!!). This great album is perfect for a whole range of photos including vintage pics, family themed or girl themed photos. I have made my album as a Mother's Day gift for my Nan in Australia as a change from the usual card and have filled it with photos of all of the female family members in my branch of the family tree. This way she'll keep up with how fast Melissa and my niece Angel are growing!! I was able to put three generations of women into this lovely little book - in fact it could have been 4 but I couldn't find a photo of my Nan that she would like me to use!

I'll be taking along my Cricut so you can cut a title for your book while you are at club. You'll need to bring along some 3d foam pads, sandpaper, a creamy brown inkpad, small photos (no larger than 3" x 4") plus any rub-ons and spare chipboard you might have from club last time.

See you tomorrow! K :o)

The 1st class for our April crop

The first class for the crop on 26th April is open for booking now! I love the colours of the Felicity papers we are using in this one - white and aqua with a shot of brown (definately no pink here this time!! LOL!). The kit has two sheets of really fab die-cuts that include flowers, titles, journaling boxes and the most gorgeous flourishes together with 3 double sided patterned papers, cardstock and ribbons. I am desperate to get designing with it but have a couple of other things that are more of a priority right now - perhaps this is what I need to spur me on to get them done so I can play!

We went to the Stitches trade show earlier this week and had a great time choosing all the goodies for the other classes, I was like a kid in a sweet shop!! We have beautiful stuff coming including Melissa Frances, Autumn Leaves, My Minds Eye and Delish Designs (plus loads of others but my brain is frazzled and I just can't remember them all!). We also have gorgeous goodies ordered for the next few months worth of club kits - I just can't wait for them all to be delivered!!

We've just had the delivery of Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks and Papercrafts magazine so I'm off to put my feet up with a cuppa for half an hour and have a flick through!

Kit for club this week

For club this week we are using totally gorgeous papers from My Mind's Eye together with chipboard flourishes. This red colour scheme is perfect for Valentine photos but to be honest you could use just about anything as there isn't a theme to these particular papers. I decided to use pics of my parents as I haven't scrapbooked them for ages! I really love the combination of blue and red - it brings out the red in Mum's hair a treat too!!

If you have pale blue and burgundy inkpads, they'll come in handy together with a corner rounder - everything else is just cutting and sticking!! I've printed off the instructions for the page for everyone and they'll be there waiting for you.

Sore feet!

Hiya,
I was up bright and early this morning - ok, not bright but definately early as my back gave me a nudge awake at 5am! I popped my medication and now the only things that are hurting are my feet but that goes with the territory of teaching all day. The crop went really well yesterday - all the classes sold out and we had a really good laugh which is what its all about! The kids had a blast and were desperate to get back from swimming so they could help to clear up, shame its not as easy to get them to clean up their bedrooms!!

We have a nice lazy day ahead of us as we plan to go to the cinema this afternoon to see The Waterhorse - thank goodness for half term holidays as we had plenty to choose from but pleasing everyone can sometimes be a bit of a challenge! So it'll be big bags of salted popcorn and drinks all round!

Last peek - MM Vintage Hip LO

The sheer amount of pink papers that are around at the moment didn't give us much to choose from for the crop this time - for some this is fab news while for others it has been a bit more of a challenge. I have to admit that despite being a lover of pink, even I'm getting a bit challenged so I decided not to use the pink in this kit and make a baby page with pictures of Jack. To be honest, this page can easily be made to suit a girl or boy by switching in the pink or leaving it out - so you get the best of both worlds! It isn't necessarily baby themed though, lots of different types of photos would go with these papers - just think fresh green, bright blue and cream together with soft rose pink.

I used a 6" x 4" landscape photo together with a 3" x 4" landscape but portrait would work just as well. You'll need a small size single hole punch (an eyelet one is perfect) and some 3D foam pads together with a soft green inkpad. Strong scissors would be an advantage - preferably not your best ones though.

We're all set here, just a few last minute bits and bobs to do and then we'll start getting packed into the cars. I'm seeing the specialist at the hospital about my back tomorrow morning - fingers crossed that everything is on the mend!

Chipboard circle album peek

I've had this idea for an album for a while and am so pleased with how it turned out - it has fab sliding pages that can be used for more photos or journaling. It is a bit fiddly to make but once you get to grips with how the pages are constructed you'll fly through it! I think this is the fastest I've ever made an album which was helped by the masses of paper in the kit which all co-ordinates really well.

You won't get time to get your photos into the album during the class but just in case, 5" x 4" is the largest you can get onto each page without trimming them for the circular shape of the pages. I used one photo per page and went a bit smaller at 3" x 4" which gave some space to embellish using the massive tin full of chipboard that comes with this as well.

You'll need a craft knife, metal ruler and cutting mat plus a good supply of glue sticks for the class - if you haven't booked yet this is about the only class we have spaces in now so be quick!

Two Scoops sneak peek!

The new Two Scoops from BasicGrey is very definately girly and so I've gone all out this time with this gorgeous kit! I used a single 6" x 6" photo but you could easily use two 6" x 4" pics either landscape or portrait for this one. You'll need some 3D foam pads and a pink inkpad.

The last class for the crop is going on sale this evening and its a chipboard album (with lots of hidden secrets!). The kit includes 24 sheets of patterned paper, chipboard, coiled spine and a tin full of decorated chipboard embellishments. This will definately be one for the boys - no more pink, I promise!! LOL!!

Prima Paintables sneak peek

Dig out your girlie pictures for this class as it is unashamedly pretty! You'll need a single square photo for this LO, mine was 6" x 6". If you have a butterfly stamp, you might want to bring it along - I will have mine available in the class but if you don't want to wait for it, your own would be an advantage. Throw your Versamark inkpad into your bag before you leave together with your chalks because you'll need that pink one and if you have shimmers - even better! One last thing, you'll need a load of 3D foam pads!

MME Adore class sneak peek

If you were lucky enough to grab a place in this class before it sold out, here's a sneak peek at what we'll be doing on Saturday. You'll need a 7" x 5" landscape photo (or a couple of smaller ones that would work together side by side) and some burgundy chalks - I used shimmer ones. There is plenty of paper and other bits in the kit for you to create a second project, we barely use half of everything that is in there!

I have opened bookings for our next crop in April and places are already going extremely fast so you might want to reserve your place quickly to be sure of being able to join us. It looks like this one will be sold out very soon!

Keep dropping by for peeks at the other classes for Saturday's crop.

3 new classes on sale now!

The next 3 kits for our crop are now available to book online through the shop and they are just gorgeous! Our first offering is a cram-packed kit from Making Memories and is taken from their Funky Vintage Paisley range. The kit has masses in it including 4 sheets of alphabet stickers, 6 patterned papers, buttons, lace and ribbon.

Next up is something a little different from Prima - one of their 'Paintables' pages together with a palette of 42 watercolour paints, brushes and a whole pack of Prima flowers. You'll be able to get in touch with your artistic side as you create your own unique patterned paper!

The third class uses the utterly scrummy 'Two Scoops' from BasicGrey to create a scrapbook page. The kit includes 4 patterned papers, a 12x12 sheet of alphabet stickers, 'Two Scoops' buttons and Prima flowers. These ice cream colours will capture your heart and leave you wanting more!

You can find all three at www.totalpapercrafts.co.uk but you'll need to be quick!

K&Co class sneak peek

Over the next few days I'll be uploading sneak peeks of the classes for the crop so that those who are attending can start to get photos etc. together. The first peek is at the K&Co 'Margo' class (which is currently one of my favourites!). You'll need to bring along two 6" x 4" photos, one landscape and one portrait (or a landscape that can be cropped square). The papers are quite vintage and floral so this is definately not one for the boys but it is quite adaptable and would suit a wide range of types of pics.

The class kit has grown since it was released and now also includes flowers and a template together with the original patterned papers, rub-ons, cardstock and chipboard alphabet - so its even better vaue for money. I have only a very few of this class left so if you want it, grab it now!!

I'm teaching down in St Leonards-on-Sea tomorrow at The Craft Den and am already getting excited! Jenny has sold out of spaces so it should be a really buzzing day and I am really looking forward to it. Lets hope that the threatened snow doesn't appear, I can cope with rain and wind but snow is a whole different ball game! If you are joining Jenny tomorrow, I'll see you there. Take care!
